Use cases and practical choices
Use page images in slides, instructions or web previews; the image preserves appearance without editable text or interaction. For continuous reading or printing, consider whether retaining the PDF is more suitable.
Export PDF pages as images, not embedded image extraction
The tool renders each whole PDF page as a new image, including its text and illustrations. It does not extract the original embedded image files. Choose JPG or PNG and download all rendered pages together in a ZIP archive.
- PDF to JPG — use JPG for smaller photographic page images
- PDF to PNG — use PNG for lossless image encoding and diagrams
PDF to image options
- Render each PDF page as JPG or PNG
- Download all rendered pages in one ZIP archive
- Works locally, including scanned document PDFs
How to convert a PDF to JPG or PNG
- Select a PDF that opens correctly. The tool renders each entire page, including text and graphics, rather than extracting original embedded image files.
- Choose JPG or PNG: compare JPG size for photographic pages and consider PNG’s lossless image encoding for diagrams and text. Then choose a render size; a clearer result usually requires more memory and larger files.
- Start conversion and wait for the page progress to finish. Every page is processed; extract an excerpt with Split PDF first if only selected pages are required.
- Download and extract the ZIP, checking page-001-style filenames against the expected page count. Inspect small type before using images in slides, websites or print. Images do not retain PDF text selection, links or forms.
PDF to image FAQ
What tasks suit PDF to JPG or PNG?
Place report figures into slides, share an instruction page as an image or prepare a page preview for a website. The result is a visual page snapshot, not OCR text or the original embedded photograph. Inspect small lettering, stamps and rules at the intended display size before using it.
How do JPG and PNG differ? Is PNG always clearer?
JPG uses lossy image compression and often saves space on photographic pages. PNG preserves the rendered pixels with lossless encoding but can be larger. Both are limited by source detail and render size. PNG cannot restore detail missing from the PDF and is not automatically the best choice for every task.
Why do I get a ZIP, and can I select one page?
The current workflow renders every page and downloads all page images together in a ZIP. It has no individual-page selector. Extract selected pages with Split PDF first, then convert that excerpt. After extracting the ZIP, use the individual numbered images you need.
Why is high-resolution export slow or still blurred?
Larger rendering creates more pixels and uses more processing time and memory, particularly on phones. A low-resolution scan stays limited by its original detail even when rendered larger. Try fewer pages, a lower level or a desktop browser, and compare the actual exported images rather than relying on the setting name.
