Free Online Image Converter
Convert images between JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, and ICO in your browser. Batch convert and download a ZIP. No upload required.
Your files stay in the browser. Nothing is uploaded.
Animated GIFs export as a still frame. ICO is capped at 256px on the long side.
Use cases and practical choices
Retail teams can standardize product image formats, web teams can prepare WebP or transparent PNG assets, and office users can convert an otherwise inconvenient image format. Check the destination requirements first: conversion is not a guarantee of a target KB size or platform-specific dimensions.
Convert JPG, PNG, WebP, and more
- Convert JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, ICO, and AVIF when the browser supports it
- Batch convert many files and download them as a ZIP
- Adjust JPEG/WebP quality and background color for formats without transparency
How to convert image formats
- Select one or more images your browser can read and remove unwanted files from the queue. This converter changes format; it does not resize to specified dimensions.
- Choose JPG or WebP for photographic use, PNG or WebP when transparency matters, or ICO for icons. Encoding options unavailable in this browser cannot be selected.
- Adjust quality for JPG or WebP. When converting transparency to a format without it, choose a background color and test a small selection first.
- Run conversion and wait for processing. A single result downloads directly; multiple results download as a ZIP. Extract the archive and inspect transparency, text edges and file size before publishing.
Image converter FAQ
Which format suits product photos, web assets or office images?
Compare JPG and WebP for photographs, considering both visual detail and destination support. PNG or WebP often suits transparent logos and screenshots. Low-quality JPG can create artifacts around text. Convert one representative image first, inspect it and confirm the destination accepts the format before processing a whole batch.
Why does transparency disappear when converting PNG to JPG?
JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent pixels must be placed against a background. Select a suitable background color before conversion. Keep PNG or transparent WebP when transparency is required; changing a filename extension cannot add or preserve an unsupported feature.
Will conversion sharpen a small image or preserve GIF animation?
Format conversion does not reconstruct missing detail. This tool uses browser image decoding and Canvas, so multi-frame animation is not guaranteed to survive and should be treated as static output. Use a workflow designed for animation, restoration or explicit resizing when those are your actual requirements.
Why did only some files in a batch convert?
Decode and encode support varies by browser, and large images may exceed memory or Canvas limits. Check whether each failed source opens correctly, try fewer files and consider another browser. Inspect the extracted ZIP and file count rather than assuming partial completion processed every input.
