Merge or split PDF

Merge multiple PDFs or extract selected pages from one PDF in your browser. Reorder files with the arrow buttons. No upload or signup.

Your files stay in the browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Use cases and practical choices

Office teams can combine notices and attachments, sales and purchasing teams can extract manual sections, and trainers can assemble handouts. Merge answers “several files into one”; split answers “only these pages.” Neither edits text or automatically sorts by filename or printed page labels.

Merge PDF files or extract PDF pages?

Merging combines separate documents into one PDF. Splitting here means selecting pages from one PDF and saving those pages together in a new file; it does not create a separate file for every page. Select the matching mode before adding your files.

1-3, 5, 7-10

Choose the right PDF workflow

For example, merge a cover letter and attachments into one document, or extract only pages 1–3 and 5 from a long report. Keep the original file until you have checked the result. Large documents need more browser memory.

  • Compress PDF — reduce a scanned PDF for sharing; compression rasterizes pages and removes selectable text
  • PDF encrypt / decrypt — remove a known password before processing a protected PDF

Merge and split PDF in one place

  • Merge several PDFs into one file
  • Extract a page range into a new PDF
  • Use the arrow buttons to reorder PDF files before merging.

How to merge or split a PDF

  1. Choose Merge to combine separate documents, or Split to keep selected pages from one document. Both modes output a PDF.
  2. For merging, add at least two PDFs, use the queue arrows to set their order and remove unintended files. Splitting reads the first PDF in the queue rather than treating several files as one document.
  3. In split mode, enter a range such as 1-3, 5, 7-10, counting from the first actual file page. An empty range keeps every page. Printed page labels may differ from file positions.
  4. Run processing, download and check page count, order, tables and images. Unlock password-protected inputs with a known password before returning to this tool.

Merge and split PDF FAQ

Which everyday tasks suit merge and split?

Merge can combine a cover, report and attachments into one file; split can extract a chapter from a manual or selected meeting pages. Neither mode edits the text or decides what should be shared. Review the actual output and intended recipient’s needs before sending it.

Does splitting produce one file per page?

No. Selected pages are written together into one new PDF in the entered range order. For example, 1-3, 5 produces one four-page document. Use PDF-to-image export for one image per page; this split mode does not create separate PDF files for every page.

Are bookmarks, signatures and interactive forms preserved?

Copying pages should not be treated as preservation of every document-level feature. Bookmarks, interactive forms, attachments and digital-signature status require separate verification. Keep the originals and inspect the output’s appearance and required behavior rather than relying only on its page count.

Why do protected or very large PDFs fail?

The merge and extraction modules do not ask for an opening password. Remove protection with a known password in the PDF password tool first. Large inputs can also exceed browser memory; try fewer documents or a desktop browser and confirm each original opens correctly.
